Easter

Easter Message and Live Stream Mass Schedule from Father Senior Gregory

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

I wish, as in past years, you can walk into our Parish Church on Easter and see for yourself the resurrection symbols and altars decked with beautiful Easter lilies. Unfortunately, this year we are operating under circumstances that have never occurred before. Even though we cannot be together, we must still remember and celebrate this very important day of our Catholic faith. This is the day on which the Church commemorates Christ’s glorious resurrection. As we know, every Sunday we state our belief in that principal Christian truth as we recite the Nicene Creed.

When Jesus died on the cross on that Friday afternoon, even His closest friends believed that the Master’s life had come to an end, as many believed at that time and even today. For these people, death was the final act.

My friends in the faith, the resurrected Lord is alive! We meet Him often, even though we are not aware of this. He is present within the Church. You meet Him when you receive the Sacraments; and Jesus becomes present on the altar during Mass. He is present in every so many ways.

Not only are we celebrating Christ’s glorious resurrection, but we are also celebrating our future resurrection and eternal life. “Because I live, you also will live”   (John 14, 19), Jesus promises us.

Remember…Church is not the building; but rather we, the people, are the Church. Although the building is closed, you must remain open. Join us for Holy Week, Easter Sunday and future Sundays during these challenging times as we celebrate these events through social media on our Facebook page, Church of the Transfiguration.

HAPPY EASTER!    Wesolych Swiat Wielkanocnych!

Yours in Christ,

The Very Rev. Gregory Mludzik, Pastor

Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ – Wielkanoc

This is a day for celebration. This is the day Christ our Brother broke the chains of death and rose in triumph from the grave. He did this, not just for himself, but for all of us. He wants us to share in his great victory over sin and death.

“The Lord is risen. Alleluia! Christ has Risen, Truly He is Risen, and He arose and gave us life everlasting!”

With these joyful words we greet and rejoice with all of you as we celebrate the feast of our Savior’s resurrection. Today we celebrate the renewal of our humanity and all of God’s creation. Today dawns the eternal spring of the Church from which blossoms the fruit of new and unending life. May the blessings of Easter, its joy and peace remain in your hearts now and always. Have a blessed, holy, and joyous Easter.

Radosnych świąt Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego oraz Błogosławieństwa Bożego życzy!

Easter Message 2012

Do not be afraid! Jesus is alive, and we will live too! Resurrection! It happened in the dark with no witnesses. When it began dawning, everything shattered. Christ rose from the dead.

Two women came to inspect the tomb. They found the stone rolled back, the guards paralyzed with fear and fallen down like dead men. They saw the angel of the Lord sitting there, his garments dazzling as snow. The women were able to hear his voice saying: “Do not be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus crucified, but He is not here. Come and see the spot where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has been raised from the dead and now goes ahead of you to Galilee, where you will see Him.’

This is the Easter message I have for you, the message of the living God. Do not be afraid! We believe in Jesus who is alive and gives the promise of live eternal to His faithful followers.

On the occasion of Easter, I wish you stronger faith, peace of mind, joy and happiness, which results from the fact that Jesus is alive. Together with those who witnessed the resurrected Jesus go and tell the story to others that they may also believe.

Have a Happy Easter! Radosnego Święta Zmartwychwstania!

Fr. Gregory

Prayer for Easter

God of all life, we rejoice with you in this day of death’s defeat. To the bewildered eyes of your disciples, Christ’s death looked like tragic loss, but you turned it into a great gain. Give us the faith you gave them to believe that, through the creative power of your love, even the greatest tragedy can be transformed and become life-giving. May our faith strengthen throughout the fifty days of this Easter season as we pray to embrace your gift of new and everlasting life. Amen!
