A Christmas Message

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

Once again Christmas is here. During the Advent Season we were called by the Church to prepare a way for the Lord, to make His paths straight, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. And now it is already here. Have we heeded the call of the Church? Have we properly prepared ourselves to worthily commemorate this special day?

Each year as we celebrate Christmas, we cannot help but contemplate how Almighty God chose the wonderful event of His incarnation to happen. God chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of Jesus. We know that Mary accepted the role for which Almighty God had chosen her and our Lord was conceived of the Holy Spirit. Do you remember how excited you were about Christmas when you were young? As adults we need to have that same spirit of excitement and anticipation that children always seen to have.

Dear brothers and sisters, at Christmas let us make time for Jesus. As you break the Christmas wafers – opłatek during the vigil supper and on Christmas Day, remember that we celebrate the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ and that we are to share the Good News and His love with each another. May the Child of Bethlehem be the center of all of our celebrations and festivities this year. May Jesus Christ bring you hope, love, joy, and peace. Have a blessed Christmas and may the New Year 2012 be a happy and healthy one for you and your families.

Prayer for Easter

God of all life, we rejoice with you in this day of death’s defeat. To the bewildered eyes of your disciples, Christ’s death looked like tragic loss, but you turned it into a great gain. Give us the faith you gave them to believe that, through the creative power of your love, even the greatest tragedy can be transformed and become life-giving. May our faith strengthen throughout the fifty days of this Easter season as we pray to embrace your gift of new and everlasting life. Amen!

Resurrection Of Our Lord Jesus Christ – Wielkanoc

This is a day for celebration. This is the day Christ our Brother broke the chains of death and rose in triumph from the grave. He did this, not just for himself, but also for all of us. He wants us to share in his great victory over sin and death.

“The Lord is risen. Alleluia! Christ has Risen, Truly He is Risen, and He arose and gave us life everlasting!”

With these joyful words we greet and rejoice with all of you as we celebrate the feast of our Savior’s resurrection. Today we celebrate the renewal of our humanity and all of God`s creation. Today dawns the eternal spring of the Church from which blossoms the fruit of new and unending life. May the blessings of Easter, it`s joy and peace remain in your hearts now and always. Have a blessed, holy and joyous Easter.

On the Transfiguration

Through the fall our nature was stripped of divine illumination and resplendence. But the Logos of God had pity upon our disfigurement and in His compassion He took our nature upon Himself, and on Tabor He manifested it to His elect disciples clothed once again most brilliantly. He shows what we once were and what we shall become through Him in the age to come, if we choose to live our present life as far as possible in accordance with His ways. — St. Gregory Palamas
